I get the following error anytime I try and run an AVI on my MVP. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this problem.

ffmpeg.exe - Unable to locate componet

This application has failed to start because xvidcore.dll was not found. reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I tried that software. The file still doesn't play, but at least it doesn't restart the MVP like it use to and the error doesn't come up anymore.

Thanks,

You could also install or re-install XVid codec pack.
The one I have installed is the Nic's XviD Codec 1.1.0 b2 Build 6.04.2005, but you can install one of your choice.
You could find more codecs at http://www.free-codecs.com site.

To play divx files through MVP I have also modified the config.xml as follow:

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLinePAL>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 2400 -r 25 -s 352x288 -vcodec mpeg2video "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLinePAL>
<MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 2400 -r 25 -s 352x240 -vcodec mpeg2video "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>

as suggested in this thread: FFMpeg Transcode (note that I left "-vcodec mpeg2video").

I hope it could help you all
