Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900 Support

To use the digital part of the HVR-900 add the following to bda.ini:

TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=WinTV HVR-900 BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinTV HVR-900 BDA Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I've used the HVR-900 in GB-PVR for 0.94 and 0.95 for the past weeks and it seems to work OK.

Should the analog part of the HVR-900 work in GB-PVR?

I haven't managed to get analog working in Xp MCE, but noticed GB-PVR from the hauppauge forum and it looks like a nice MCE alternative.

Thanks for the tip, I can almost get it working (I can get as far as static). Can't tune it, and it takes an age to change channels though so I've given up for now and settled on using the included Wintv2000 (which doesn't look that nice - bit of a 90's throwback - but works). I'll probably try and tweak it and see if that helps.

So by "digital part of the HVR 900" I assume that means the ATSC tuner?

You're probably talking about a different device HVR 900 is a DVB-T/Analog device. HVR 950 is ATSC/Analog device.

The situation has changed a bit since my original comments. The analog side of these devices might work with the v0.98.13 release.

I see that the digital part works, but does the analog part work now so it's possible to watch analog and digital channels?

No, sorry. GB-PVR has no support for analog devices without the hardware MPEG2 encoder. I did experiment with it for a while, but decided it wasnt worth pursuing.
