I have installed the lastest ffdshow but no matter what settings I change, there is no effect in GB-PVR playback. Does anyone have this working and could I get some help setting up my system? I'm trying to use it to get rid of that top scan line that looks like a bunch of dots and is very annoying on my PC.

Thanks,
Daxx

I have it working. In Config, Playback, use Dscaler decoder, (I have Dscaler 5 installed, I do not know if GBPVR comes with it), Defaut direct sound and use VMR9.

In ffdshow, I have to use custom resize setting. I use 1920x1200. This is about right AR as compared to playing in dvd mode.

It works fine out the box as the audio decoder and videodecoder for AVIs like XVID etc. For post-processing in GB-PVR it works OK on AVIs but I've never got it to work with MPEG2 recordings. To doublecheck that it is working as a codec or post-processor the easiest check is to turn on the OSD in FFDShow.

Yes, I turned on the OSD - zippo ... nadda

Audio portion is working though. I've deinstalled it for now and I'm "living" with that information scan line at the top of the display in GB-PVR on my PC screen. On the TV, it's great due to overscan, I don't see it.

Seems like there could be an option in GB-PVR to mask the top scan line or crop the image for us PC monitor users?? Hint-hint... Wink

Couldn't you do that by editing one of the aspect ratios?

Damn, that worked like a charm. After reading your post, I searched for "aspect ratio" and found out about "F7" cycling through available aspect ratios. One of the defaults works great! Is this what they mean by RTFM? I'm crawling back in my NOOB cave now... :o

Thanks a lot,
Daxx
