I bought the external WinTV USB 2 and it does not appear in the Capture Card Type field in the configurations. This is the only problem I have setting this up is there something i need to download or is there a setting to use?

Thats because its not supported, you might get by with the wdm recorder plug in or try another httpc app such as got all media. GBPVR natively supports hardware encoders and BDA devices, you rwintv USB2 is a software encoder so doesn't fall into the supported catergory.
If you brought the wintv pvr usb2 then that would have been supported but that costs twice as much.

From subs previous mention of the subject your card isn't likely to be supported. As I said you could try the wdm software plugin http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=2753 if you don't get anywhere with that try http://www.gotallmedia.com. If yourve just purchased this product I would try for a refund and get a more supported card.

Did you get the name exactly right? The Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 is supported. The Hauppauge WinTV USB2 is not.
