What is your deinterlacing setting set to? Try 'none' if its not already.

Are you on Windows 2000, XP or MCE?

I suspect its something to do with the pin names being created by the 'Microsoft MPEG2 Demultiplexer' on your machine. Can you please attach a screenshot of the bda.grf file? Also confirm the date/time of bda.grf is today (and not a really old file).

Again, thanks for your help. Happy new year!

I run WinXP sp2. It's a relatively fresh install (two weeks old). Using AVG for virus and MS (giant) Anti-spy.

attached is the .grf and a .jpg of it in a .zip They are from the most recent opening of gbpvr, and the error was reproduced again.

I was able to get playback to work of the recording I made yesterday by switching from the nvidia decoder to the dscaler mpeg2 video decoder (all setting left default).

I don't know which deinterlacing control to set to "none", can you direct me to the tab in "config" I should look at?

Did this help with live TV? Have you tried the Zulu decoder?

In the config app on the misc tab, lower left.

No, "Live TV" does not work as of yet (object reference error), though I can record a program and watch the recording with GBPVR.

I have tried the zulu hdtv decoder (BDA). It did not work.

Okay, I turned off deinterlacing in the config/misc/deinterlacing selection. It was previously set to encoder pass-through. I tried this new setting with each decoder selected on the playback tab (intervideo, dscaler, nvidia, default, zulu) live tv did not work (obj ref error). I have overlay manager chosen.

Unlike a previous poster in this thread, the live tv NEVER works, I always get the obj ref error. However I don't get BSOD, either.

It seems to be whatever linkage pulls the live stream from the tuner and displays it in gbpvr.

Grinchy, what are your results with watching live tv with Dvico's software and/or Beyond TV 4? My fusion 5 usb works great watching live TV with each of these. I'm at a loss on what is happening with GBPVR. I've tried sub's suggestions in the past few posts and still have the same issues I posted earlier.

Update (1/11/06) - I can schedule recordings with Gbpvr, which then get recorded with no problem. Quality is great when I watch recorded shows. Still not able to view live TV. So actually using GB strickly as a HiDef recorder with the fusion USB (atsc) is working great.

Hello, I don't know if this will help, but I've been getting the same problem with my KWorld ATSC-110 HDTV card when it's set to Overlay. I'm able to get LiveTV working by choosing either VMR7 or VMR9 instead. The problem is that the playback is choppy, so I've been trying to get Overlay to work to smooth it out. Anyway, hope this helps!

Another thing I just found out. I just switched the quartz.dll file from Direct 9.0c to the version from 9.0b and now I can use Overlay without getting the error. Video playback seems smoother as well. May give it a shot.
