Hi all:

Just installed GBPVR on a fresh install of Windows XP SP1 with DirectX 9 and WinDVD. The motherboard is an Epia M10000 with 512M RAM. The capture device is a Plextor PX-M402U.

I think I have it working, not sure since I'm testing at work with a broken video camera connected to the Plextor (Long story). I've got the guide working (Zap2It). I've set up a dummy watch channel since I don't have a tuner in my Plextor, plus I'll be connected to my DirecTV dish via A/V cables so can't use the tuner anyway.

I have tried a few test recordings through the camera of non-sensical video but my recording sizes have all be zero K in length.

I tried searching the forums but don't know enough terminology yet to find the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Just discovered that although I've installed Cyberlink PowerDVD there is no MUX listed when I run BDA Mux Checker.

Looks like I am able to view live TV though, just not successfully record.

I'm getting some performance problems as well that I'll need to fix. I'll get that log posted.

Thanks.

Cyberlink PowerDVD doesnt install the Cyberlink mux, it only installs the Cyberlink video decoder. Look at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7229 for a download link.

I'm too new at this. I wouldn't even know for sure which log to check.

It looks like you didnt install the Intervideo WinDVD Creator software that came with your device. This is required for the Plextor device.

Yup. I got my Plextor used and the CD it came with is shaped like a bowl. Left out in the heat probably.

I downloaded the software and that fixed that problem. I do appreciate you're looking into it.

I'm still having performance problems but I'll work on that. I also now need to research the sound settings. Setting sound to Intervideo doesn't produce sound in my recordings. Hmm.

Sub, having a similar problem with the Lifeview when recording MPegs. DIVX works fine, but MPeg2 is resulting in 0 byte files. Here is native Recording:

Code:

00:00:04.140    VERBOSE    put_Channel(8, AMTUNER_SUBCHAN_DEFAULT, AMTUNER_SUBCHAN_DEFAULT)
00:00:05.390    VERBOSE    getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE    Graph contains the following filters:
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - File Writer
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - HT MPEG Multiplexer
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - HT MPEG1 Audio Encoder
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - LifeView TV Walker Ultra A/V Capture
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - LifeView TV Walker Ultra CrossBar
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - LifeView TV Walker Ultra Audio
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE     - TV Tuner
00:00:05.515    VERBOSE    getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)
00:32:00.015    VERBOSE    Stopping Recording

I know in prior versions that MPEG2 recording worked fine, and I haven't touched device drivers or codecs on that machine in over a year.

No errors that jump out, but any MPEG2 recording ends up 0 byte. I typically record in DIVX mode but noticed this after upgrading to 95.16 because Custom2 is setup for MPEG2.

It would be nice if when upgradeing, if the quality options have been changed, not to overwrite them.

To be honest, I'm seriously considering ditching support for these GO7007SB devices. We've got abot 5 people using them, and its not really worth the time supporting them. They've never quite worked as well as I've wanted them to, and I never seem to be able to find the time that would be required to make work well.

I havnt had my plextor or lifeview device plugged into my machine in months. Even the thought of dusting it off to look into this just makes me cringe.

I can completely understand. You have to put the time and resources where the majority of your user base is. As it stands now, for what I use GBPVR for, it does what I need.

I hope that you don't drop support for it as I think the 7007SB devices don't get enough kudos. I know being able to record directly to DIVX format has saved me a ton of disk space.

For me it's not a high priority item. As long as DIVX recording is still working, then I'm fine with how things are right now.
