I am lost on trying to figure out how to FF/RW or skip through videos. Everytime I hit the skip or FF or the blank button on my MVP remote it jumps back to the beginning of the video. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is there an option or something in the Config that I need or a plugin for this?

Have you tried changing the setting in: config-misc- use short skip instead of ff/rw.
Did you try changing your decoder, happened this with recordings (mpg) or with avi files.

I've never changed the setting for the "Use short skip instead of FF/RW. The box is still checked. I've also never really played around with the decoders. On the playback tab in the config program the video, audio and renderer are all set to system default. The only other option available under video is Nero Video Decoder. The options available under audio are MPEG Audio, Cyberlink and Nero Digital Audio. Renderer decoder as 3 or 4 options also. Should any of these be changed? Thanks for any help.

I should definitely try if changing these options (one by one) makes any difference.
I'm still interested in what format the video's are you are watching.

This is happening with both Mpeg and Avi files. I changed the video decoder to Nero and still got the same result. It just restarts the video from the beginning.

For AVI-files it's allways a problem to skip or ff on the mvp (afaik).
MPGs should work ok however. What are your computerspecs?
Do you have the Hauppauge-software installed, if so make sure the Hauppauge-services are not running.

What kind of mpg's are they, are they from a tv-card?
In config-playback what are your skipcontrol-settings, default is:
-skip forward: 60 secs
-skip backward: 30 secs
-timebase: minutes
