You need to install the MediaMVP software, even if you do not use it, because GBPVR uses the components to playback the avi's. After installing you have to stop the MVP services (and set them to manual instead of automatic).

What value do you have in config for number of seconds in default skip control?

My setup is I have short skip instead of FF/RW UNchecked and in skip control defaults I have forward skip 30 seconds back skip size 31 seconds and manual skip time base is minutes and everything work great.

So just hitting skip > I get 31 seconds and skip < I get 31 and if I hit a number key and then skip then iten it skips that many minutes.

The video file I'm trying to play was an Avi file converted to Mpeg with Tmpgenc. My playback settings are all the default settings:
Skip Fwd: 60
Skip Bkwd: 30
TimeBase:Min

Try unchecking the option for "use short skip instead of FF/RW". If that does not help then I don't know, sorry.

I've tried it both ways, checked and unchecked. Thanks for trying.

Cakes, how do you stop the MVP services once I've installed the Hauppauge MediaMVP software? I don't see it when I click my start button, then Programs and then Startup. I do see the GBPVRtray.exe. I installed it and couldn't disable it from automatically restarting when I reboot so I uninstalled it.

Go to configuration screen, system maintenance and then services. There you will see a list of all running services. doubleclicking the MVP service you will be able to start, stop, etcc and also specify manual or automatic starting.

(this is for XP Pro, I assume it is similar in other Windows versions)

Where did you find that fast skip box, in the Hauppauge software?
