I have been looking for a program to replace Media Center 2005 and through the C-Net forums ran across this site. This program has features I really wanna try like being able to record TV into PSP format.

One question I have is does it support a TV Tuner card with multiple inputs like S-Video and coaxial, where I can freely switch between both quickly and relatively easily? I have not found a way in MCE and heard there is no way to with going through the setup each time you wanna change.

Another question I have is more of a support question. Everytime I click on LiveTV a fuzzy picture comes up for a split second and then goes blank and all I get is the sound. Does anybody know what this could be?

This is the setup I have that works fine with MCE, but not with GBPVR:
Gateway Media Center PC with Pentium D 2.8Ghz, 1GB of RAM, ATI Raedon X800XL Video Card, and ATI TV WONDER Elite TV Tuner.

If you need anymore information about my computer and specs please ask and I can reply with it, but for some reason I think this is something I'm overlooking. Thank you for your time.

Well, I figured I might as well put this up to help anyone diagnose the problem:

Gateway Pentium D 2.8Ghz
ATI Raedon X800XL
ATI TV WONDER Elite w/ Remote Control

I ran the configuration tool and set it up for the TV WONDER Elite as the Capture Source and no dice.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I installed Cyberlink PowerDVD trial version thinking it might be a multiplexer problem and now I get a picture, but it is horribly choppy.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this kind of stuff and wouldn't know where to start zipping and logging and whatnot. I think I can work through this and was reading a thread earlier about something to this affect. It only occurs when watching something that is moving quickly like sports.

I appreciate your help and I will continue to try anything you post.

Sounds like it may be decoder related. Which decoder do you have specified under the 'playback' tab? Possibly a de-interlacing method specified in the decoder. I had similiar issues untill I changed the way my nvidia purevideo decoder was de-interlacing.
The logs that sub is probably talking about are any file in the gbpvr directory that end with the file extension of ".log". For example 'Gbpvr.exe.log'.

Well, I figured out I have the Cyberlink Decoder and switched it over and now I'm not getting a picture at all. Just a frozen, fuzzy window of what appears to be the last image on the screen before it locked up.

Another problem I'm having is no sound on DVD, but the picture quality is top notch. I'm still plugging away trying to figure out what is wrong and if anyone has any suggestions, I would be forever grateful.

You should do as sub sais and zip up the .log files and attach them. He made the program, and is offering his help. You should take him up on it.
Question: does the picture play fine through powerdvd?

Yeah, everything looks great in DVD playback with no sound. Everything sounds great in LiveTV with no picture, or a stuck image and sometimes a black screen.

I will try to find the log files to send to him so he can help. I know its a pain to have someone who knows nothing about this kind of stuff, but thank you for bearing with me. I'm just used to tinkering with things until they work themselves out, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

If you are a tinkerer, you may want to look at the log files (in the GBPVR directory). Just double click on them and they should open. Sub has done an awsome job of putting these logs in so you can see what is happening. Look for any errors for clues. That said, zip 'em up and send them to Sub. He should quickly point you in the right direction. Welcome and good luck!

Are you talking about dvd playback from WITHIN powerdvd? Or are you talking about video playback through GBPVR?
