Anyone know where I can get one of these LCDs? Are there are companies that produce them all pre-made? I can't see them being too pricey, and it would be a great addition.
tnx

I just picked up and LCD module from www.crystalfontz.com. I was looking for one that would fit in a 3.5" external port (for my Shuttle system), but they have a number of LCD display options. They seemed reasonable (US$60+), depending on how fancy you want to get.

Thanks for the info, I stumbled onto this site a few days ago. I'll have to start saving up. It's definately a nice feature. I hate having to jump from TV to Tivo to PVR to make sure something is being recorded...

There was another plugin being developed here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=7067 using lcdsmartie that worked fairly well except for external exception errors on video playback. However the developent of this plugin seems to have gone quiet.
The sourceforge Lcdsmartie page is here: http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/.

Quote:Then again, if anyone can point me to LCD software that is free, supports a wide range of displays, and allows displayed values to be provided by a plugin, please let me know and I will seriously consider it. Hi janviet, did you already thought about LCDHype? It's free and the different displays are supported by external plugins. So there are already quite alot of displays supported and there is no reason that there won't be support for more displays. All data are send to LCDHype by external plugins also. So maybe it would be an alternative. The only problem for most of the gbPVR users could be that the program is at least documented completly in german. But i'm sure there will be a solution for it. Here's the link to the page http://www.lcdhype.de.vu/. Another solution maybe is the girder plugin where the source is free as far as i understood. It is compatible to many displays. Maybe you could use the code somehow to directly write to the displays. The link to the development page of the girder plugin and the source is http://girderplugins.sourceforge.net/LCD/ I hope you see a chance to build a new plugin with one of these.
