similar to burn to DVD.
Tried DVR-MS toolbox - worked a couple of times, but now stops before midway.
GBPVR now set to record in MPEG, so problem not long-term...but have recordings in DVR-MS format that I want to put on to DVD.

Any ideas/workarounds?

yeh, there appear to be problems running toolbox on dvb recordings, which is a shame.

try (from gb-pvr folder) gbpvrconvert drive letter:\where my file is\file.dvr-ms file.mpg MPEG-2

tip: create a shortcut to the file, access the shortcut's properties and copy full path to the clipboard. you can then paste into command line.

if you have loads of dvr-ms files, take a look at using dirmon. look here for more info

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=10606

However, I would only recommend doing this if you have *loads" of files as by the time you have got it all setup (to do dvr-ms), you could have converted the files manually.

if you have *several* files, you could create a .bat file to run gbpvrconvert sequentially for all files.

put speech marks around the first file name, the spaces confuse the command

Code:
"c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRConvert.exe" "c:\path with space\to\video.dvrms" "c:\path with space\to\target-video.mpg" MPEG-2
I couldnt be arsed retyping your long paths, but this should give the general formula...

Can you tell me how you were able to configure it to record in MPEG? All I could find was the (experimental) post-record conversion option.

If you have installed the Cyberlink mux, and set it to use this mux, then it'll record .mpg files.

Phil, if you still have any DVR-MS files left to convert, give AutoDVRConvert a try. You can convert files on a one-off basis or have it run in the background and convert on-the-fly, as your programs record! I am using this with GB-PVR and yes, you can watch the MPEG file through GB-PVR while it is still being created.

You can download it here:
