My PVR connections:

Actually, that's how I used to have it and it worked good. But I'm getting better picture quality by using a DVI cable to connect the PC to the TV.
MY PVR:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Hardware: Silverstone LC13-E, Athlon II 250, Asrock 785GMH, 2GB Corsair RAM, 250GB WD HDD, 1TB WD Black, Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE tuner (s-video to Dish STB), HDHomeRun (ATSC x2), MCE2004 for Rx, USB-UIRT for Tx, Sony VL600 Remote, 36" Sony Wega HD CRT on DVI to embedded ATI HD4200.
TV Service: Dish Network and Antenna Pics 'n Details

Here's my future set-up, feel free to make any recommendations. I plan to be a regular around here!

Motherboard Asus A7N8X
CPU AMD 1800+
Floppy Basic
CD-ROM Basic
Case Basic
Power Supply 350W
RAM 512mb
Video Card Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-150
Hard Drive 250gig

Thanks for your help in advance!

You've already gotten some good advice, but here's another data point:

My media server:

MB: A7N8X-E Deluxe
CPU: Athlon XP 3000+ Barton 512MB cache
RAM: 512MB Dual Channel DDR (I need to upgrade to 1GB...someday)
Case: Tower with two 90mm fans - one in and one out
Power Supply: Antec 400W (Whoever said a good power supply is essential is correct!)
Hard Drives: Two Seagate Barracuda 7200 160GB (Parallel ATA, one is boot/system/apps. The other is a dedicated video capture drive.)
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 w/ Video Out (Good enough for what I do.)
Media I/O: a Benq DVD +/- R/W 8x single-layer (getting old now), a floppy, a 20-in-1 USB media card reader
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250 (the PVR-150 didn't exist when I bought mine)
Operating System: Windows 2k Pro w/ SP4
Burner software: Nero 6 Ultra (haven't upgraded to 7 yet)

Been using this combo for well over a year now and recording lots of TV shows, sports, etc. I edit, burn, etc. using Nero and have no problems watching my DVDs on several different players (Philips, Coby, Lenoxx, etc.)

Recently, I got a MediaMVP and am really loving it with GB-PVR. Smile
