I am using v0.95.16 with the blue skin. While the Music Library is playing fine my mp3 songs over the MVP, the Video Library is playing my MPEG2 files without sound. On my PC the MPEG2 files work fine with sound. Any hint what might be wrong with my MPEG2 files playing over the MVP.

Sounds like the same problem I had with about 10% of my extensive music video collection. Open the MPEG2 files with G-Spot 2.52 beta (here) and see what it reckons the audio stream is. My guess is will either report AC-3 or the audio field will be blank.

A lot of people suggested installing AC3filter (here) but this did not work for me. The only program I could get to recognise the AC3 audio and convert it was TMPGEnc DVD Author, this re-encoded the audio to MP3 and then they played fine.

If these MPEG2 files do have an AC3 audio track, then you wont get any audio on the MVP (since it cant play AC3 audio).

As sub says, AC3 won't work (not licensed by hauppauge). Search for besweet and use that to convert to mp3.

idbirch2, sub and groover_km thanks a lot for the quick help. Of course you were all right ... the audio is DOLBY_AC3 ... should have thought first at the codecs. Now I know at least what I have to do ... some more hours to spend to make it work :-)
