My DVD authoring software suggests the bitrate is too high.....when I tried to burn a recording, the sound was out of synch....and an hour long recording took up almost the whole 4.7GB DVD.

I guess it is then.

Can you mention when you set it at?

I think my live TV is 5200 and my recordings are 4300. You'll need to set and watch to see what works for you.

Check the documentation for the DVD software and see what it suggests. Nero will work on about anything, and recodes to the level you want/need. Most work the same way.

10MBit/sec is way too high and is above the DVD spec; some standalone player may not even play it.

Drop it to about 5.2 as capone suggests.

If I'm not mistaken, the highest stable bitrate is approx. 9 megabits per second.

Just my two cents.

He may have just added the extra 1k bits manually. When I really like something, I sometimes add a track of smell Wink

With the Nova-T devices, isn't the bitrate set by the broadcaster not by the card?

Thats correct. With digital devices like the Nova-T, you'll get whatever bitrate the broadcaster decides to use.

recording I did last night was 15,000kbs!

My software doesn't allow me to lower it (it's only a trial and you have a buy another bit - not available on trial- to be able to lower it). I've also only got Nero express, which doesn't do the authoring.....
