Have the gbpvr interface running....
and now I want to update EPG.

1. is it possible to update from "inside", eg menu choice?
2. is the right command gbpvr... -OnlyUpdateEPG in cmd file?

Running without explorer and only remote.

I know you can use the remote to open GB, so since it can run an exe, it could run a bat, which can have the update EPG.

Someone can correct, get more technical, or make a better suugestion.

That said, a menu button option would be be better. I wouldn't care to have EPG running every time I fat-finger the remote.

I agree, but as a custom task it could be added as a menu button right?

yes you could add a custom I would think. I used to have one that would restart the recording service when the mvp was flaky

But will it update the EPG internally. When i activate my menu choice I start a cmd file. I can se that a new EPG is downloaded from internet. I can also se that GBPVR runs -upg.

CMD file ends and I will be back in GUI for GBPVR. When I now look at EPG I can see that is not updated.
If I now check the corresponding XML file for EPG i can see that it is update.

Nothing has happend to internal EPG so far...

I Shutdown GBPVR and start it again. Now can I see the EPG loaded.

So the Q still is.. How do I update a running GBPVR so I can see it? Do I have to restart GBR for that?

It caches the TV Guide listings for up to a few hours, so you wont see it immediately. If you need to do things this way, then you'd have to restart GB-PVR.
