I am a new user and these might be only my problems, but I need your help. I.e. I might have installed wrong muxs or codecs.

I have problem with recording and timeshifting live TV. When I record it seems to record but all I get is 0 length files. Timeshifting nags about: Error: Failure
playing back file. Live TV works fine as is (i.e. I get a picture watching a channel).

I would appreciate if other Twinhan DVB users could confirm by answering these questions.

1. Can anyone confirm that they have working recordings and timeshifting with a Twinhan DVB card?

2. If so, what kind of muxers and mpeg2-decodecs have you installed?

3. Which BDA-driver do you use?

4. Which version of GB-PVR are you running?

I'm running GB-PVR (GBPVR09516.msi) with latest Twinhan BDA-driver 1.2.3.4. I have the following muxes according to the muxchecker:

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: InterVideo Multiplexer
FILE: C:\Program Files\InterVideo\WinDVR3\ivimux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.79.542

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0727

Is there any other debug information I could give to you, in order to know where the problem is?

Several people had problems that would sometimes result in 0 byte recordings with v5.0.0727 of the Cyberlink mux. Are you only getting the occasional recording with this problem, or all recordings? If its all recordings, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

Quote:1. Can anyone confirm that they have working recordings and timeshifting with a Twinhan DVB card?
Yes, I do.

Quote:2. If so, what kind of muxers and mpeg2-decodecs have you installed?
I use either the Cyberlink mux v5.0.0.1307 or Microsoft DVR-MS mux. Both work well.

Quote:3. Which BDA-driver do you use?
I've used quite few different versions. I'm currently using v1.2.3.0.

Quote:4. Which version of GB-PVR are you running?
Current running a pre-release of v0.96, but I've also not had any significant problems with the twinhan device in previous releases.

Is MPEG-2 Demultiplexer the mux that is used or is that something else? How do I know which mux is really being used, if any?

The log was from the timeshifting.

The problem is not occasionally. It is always. My platform is a P4 HT by the way.

The Microsoft DVR-MS mux is on all XP machines with SP1 or higher.

I cant see anything obvious in the logs.

When you mapped the channels, were you able see the full list of channels, and click on them to see them in the preview window?

Yes, I got a full list of channels.

I just took a look at my current mapping and it seems to start with 2 rows of "empty" channels named 'Channel Name' but they are both disabled (checkbox not checked in the enabled field).

And yes I can see the channel also in the preview window.

I had an empty drop down item in the country field under 'BDA Device Configuration'. But this was probably because I copied a file file containing the frequencies (.dvbc-file). But I did not use that selection when I scanned. I used the my "patched" 6900.ini file, which I filled manually in for my cable tv provider. With the correct frequencies.
