Since 2 days, starting gbpvr or config.exe results in an exception:

Process-id=0x1548 (5448), thread-id=0x1748 (5960)

I really miss gbpvr. How do I fix this?

Try making a backup of your plugin directory, then deleting everything in it.

If this eliminates the exception, then one of your plugins is creating the problem. Maybe you have installed or updated one recently.

Good Luck,
David

Thank you for your swift reply. Unfortunately that didn't work. BTW I haven't had any plugins installed.

Is this a new installation or did it used to work?

You've got the required .net v1.1 installed right?

Gbpvr used to work just fine. I have .net version 1.1.4322.2031 installed.

Sorry, I dont know.

Might be worth uninstalling, deleting the gbpvr directory, then reinstalling to see if it helps. If it doesnt, then it sounds like something is broken with one of things GB-PVR depends on - most likely either the .net runtime or Microsoft data access components.

I reinstalled like you described AND rebooted. Now the problem seems to be disappeared.

Thanks.

I had the same problem, turned out I had only installed the .NET Framework 2.0 - I thought that installing that would mean I did not need the 1.1 Framework.

So I uninstalled GBPVR, uninstalled Framework 2.0, installed Framework 1.1, installed Framework 2.0 and then installed GBPVR again - works fine now Smile
