No audio in GBPVR only for live TV

Hello,

This is the first time I am setting up a PVR. I can get GBPVR to play live TV on my computer, but there is NO audio. I am attaching the GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVR.exe-native.log files. Here is an excerpt from GBPVR.exe-native.log file:

ERROR Failed to connect pinNameCrossbarAudioDecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogAudioIn

The computer audio itself seems fine, because I can play live TV with good audio using the WinDVR software that came with the Adaptec Videoh! Media Center USB 2.0 tuner card. Initially, I did not even have WinDVR installed, and even then GBPVR did not play audio. I am also able to use GBPVR to play pre-recorded MPEG2 video files just fine with good audio.

I left the option for audio decoder/renderer in GBPVR Config program to be System Default.

Any assistance appreciated.

I dont think there are any users of this device here, so we dont really have much in the way of expertise to help on this one. All I can really suggest is using something like GraphEdit to check the names of the 'pins' listed in direct.ini for the 'Adaptec Videoh! Media Center' device.

It looks like one of the names is wrong.

I'm a little confused. An old post of yours (GBPVR DirectShow graph) suggests that I won't be able to use GraphEdit to connect to remote graph with GBPVR Live TV. I just tried it now, and it doesn't work as was foretold. Neither will GraphEdit connect to remote graph with live TV on InterVideo WinDVR 3 (this is the software that came with Adaptec Videoh USB 2.0 tuner card, and on which audio out is fine.)

I apologize for not knowing more about this stuff, but how can I capture the GBPVR Live TV graph in order to check if the 'pin' names are correct?

You dont need to connect to the graph.

You just need to start GraphEdit, and use 'insert filter' from the menu option to add the various adaptec filters (look in WDM Stream Capture, WDM Streaming Crossbar etc), then check the names aginst to those listed in direct.ini. Hopefully you'll spot a name that is wrong and be able to correct the direct.ini file.

Do this when GB-PVR is not running.

against the filter names found in GraphEdit (JPEG image of the filters attached.) Looks like the PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audio In mentioned in direct.ini file is not there at all in the Adaptec USB Capture Device filter.

Any suggestion on how I might correct this?

Thats odd. I dont know.

You titled this thread "No audio in GBPVR only for live TV". Does this mean you able to record and get sound? If so, you might want to check that your deinterlacing is set to 'encoder pass-through', which might help with live tv.

Yes. If I pause live TV in GB-PVR, and then play the recorded file as a video by navigating to \My Documents\My TV\GBPVR LiveTV Buffer folder and opening the MPG file in GB-PVR, I do hear the audio also. So, the problem is with live TV only, not with recordings from live TV.

Looks like the current direct.ini entries in GB-PVR is for the Adaptec Videoh! USB model 2210 ( see the Adaptec Videoh! USB 2210 thread.) My model is 2310 (Adaptec Videoh! DVD Media Center USB 2.0 AVC-2310.) The 2210 settings are probably different from 2310.

Anyone have working GB-PVR direct.ini settings for 2310?
