Hi

I have trawled this site and the available plugins but can't find what I'm looking for!

It occurs to me that it would be great to be able to see on one screen all the upcoming films on one channels (or all where like here in the UK we dont have that many channels!) in the next week.

I would have thought a search of the guide for programs over 1.5hrs or so in length would catch most, and then clicking on them would allow one to record them

It seems the kind of thing that someone might well have done already (I was hoping!). Any thoughts - or does it just not work? Or do I need to learn how to write a plug-in to find out!!?

Cheers

Tim

I also am looking for a similar sorting plugin to sort correctly by genre and also time length. I have been playing around with the Xsuite plugins, namely the Xrecord which has a different guide setup that can be tweaked.

Let me know if there is anything else I'm missing out there.

Thanks,
Thad

I agree, this would be great. On one of the websites with a tv-guide that I used to visit (that was: before I started using GBPVR...Wink ), you could do really something great: define a few searches based on genre, channels, starting time,... and save them for later use...

This is an important feature. Finding shows is horrible. On Dish Network the guide can be split into Themes. I put the channels I love in one, the kids in another, and only if I have too in 3rd. Its a snap to see whats on...

The inability to do this is actually keeping me from using the system full time... that and this stupid overscan issue....

Xguide allows you to create different groups of channels. You can then just view the group you're interested in.

if you mean the fact that most menus are cut off if you suffer from overscan, sub has fixed thisin the new release, edit the config.xml add adjust these values
Code:
<OverScanBorderX1>24</OverScanBorderX1>
<OverScanBorderY1>0</OverScanBorderY1>
<OverScanBorderX2>38</OverScanBorderX2>
<OverScanBorderY2>26</OverScanBorderY2>

I believe this is more of an issue with my video card as it happens outside of GBPVR as well. Depending on whether it is 720p or 1080i the screen will be off centered or not take up the entire screen.

However, I will definately try this.

Lucas,
But what is missing from Xguide is the ability to search and list the genres from the GBPVR genre table and then display this and allow us to choose a genre and then sort that list by date and channel. I agree with having something similar to Dish Networks guide would be ideal. I am currently beta testing the ShowSearch plugin and it seems to be coming along nicely. But still not genre searching, just keywords starting with or contains across the Name/Title or the Description. Works great, but needs to add genre also. I hope the author of ShowSearch plugin realizes the need for this. WE NEED A GOOGLE LIKE GUIDE FOR GBPVR ! NOW THAT WOULD ROCK !
