I have tried to do this, but I just can't get it to work. I have tried running the gbpvr service as both a system and user account with the -mvpmode instruction, but it doesn'r make a difference. Am I doing this correctly?

did you check the interact checkbox on the recording service? [when available]
oh,make sure you turn off the autostarted mvp server in config or you'll have 2 running and the mvp will pick up the built in one instead..
i make a shortcut to the command and put it in startup folder and make a custom command in plugins to run a batch file, and in the batch file put commands to kill the mvp server and restart it, all from the mvp remote
[of course it will drop connection momentarily, then re-connect]
basically you need something that can kill a running process, there are several out there[pskill, etc], and then a line restarting the mvpserver and that's all, in the batch file...i also have one to restart recording service as custom plugin button..
comes in handy sometimes...
oh,and settings are in the skin... [mostly just resolution, colors]
Found the settings - but I have a very hard time understanding them. I want to capture a rectangle from the server screen which is 400x300 pixels, located in the top middle of the screen. Could not get the location part of this to work, so I moved the window off screen - then I get the right part captured.
I use this to display song/time/next track information for my whole house Sonos mp3 player system on the screen of the three TV sets I hav connected to MVPs.
If xview would relay remote button presses in some way (Girder events?) to the server, I would even be able to do basic control of the Sonos system from any MVP. Any chance of such an addition, jorm?
