I am using an ATI 9200 video card and I am using the new Catalyst drivers that have the video mode which give much better brightness/contrast than the old drivers.
The only problem is it disables all screen adjustments. Is there any setting in config.xml that can be changed to shrink the size of the GBPVR screen? I loose a small amount of the time/date at the top of the screen and when looking at other screens suck as guide and Recordings I loose the R and half of the e on the left hand side of the screen.

Thanks

You could try changing the following setting in config.xml

<OverScanBorderX1>0</OverScanBorderX1>
<OverScanBorderY1>0</OverScanBorderY1>
<OverScanBorderX2>0</OverScanBorderX2>
<OverScanBorderY2>0</OverScanBorderY2>

If they are at 0 now , would I use a negative number or a decimal number (eg. 0.90) ?

Would I change both X1 and X2 and Y1 and Y2?

BTW - new version is very quick now when browsing the guide and recordings. Good job!!

Its a number of pixels. If you GB-PVR to not use the top 50 pixels on your screen, set <OverScanBorderX1>50</OverScanBorderX1>.

That worked perfectly for all the menus!

Is there a different setting for the channel bar and program description when watching a recording or live TV? That is still missing a few letters left and a line or so at the bottom.

Well I played around with a couple of settings to no avail. The GB-PVR menu screens are all the proper size and fit the tv screen well now with nothing off the left of the screen , but, the blue channel bar with the title of the show (and channel number if on live TV) is @ 4 or 5 letters to far to the right. I cannot see the channel number at all and usually the first few letters of the program name are missing. Is there a setting somewhere that sets the width of the channel bar?

You wont be able to change the size of the OSD graphics, it is tied to the size of the video.

So if I am missing some of the OSD , then I am missing some of the video as well. Maybe I'll play with the aspect ratio to see if that works. I am using overlay but I believe the new version allows aspect ratio changes (f7) ?

Yes, you'll be missing some of the video also. You're probably not aware, but this usually happens when you watch tv.

Your best bet is get the video card to produce a picture that is better matched to your tv.

It's a bit of a trade off with the new ATI drivers. The new video mode is so much clearer and brighter but you loose the ability to set the screen size. No worries , I'll live with the bar being a bit off as the picture quality is very good the way it is now.
