MCe remotes

Can we tie this down once and for all? I'm confused about the different MCE remotes out there and how much GBPVR supports them! I have a MCE remote that came with a Hauppauge 150MCE and it seems different to the retail ones as doesn't have the learning keys ie TV on/off but looks identical apart from that to the 2005 European MCE remote. I also have a MCE keyboard which again has a built in remote. Neither has the 'My' buttons working and on the remote the colour buttons don't work either, is this to be expected and do these keys work on the MCE remote with the tv on/off button? (not to be confused with the pc on/off button on the remote!) Sorry if all sounds a bit confusing but I'm confused too :confused:

I can only support the MCE remotes I have. I dont have the Hauppauge MCE remote, so this is not supported.

The remotes I do have are: (MCE2005 remote)

Any thing else isnt supported.

Chris.Day did indicate that the Hauppauge MCE remote works with IR32 and irremote.ini, so if you're lucky and your remote type is set to 'Hauppauge Remote' and you click the 'fix hauppauge remote settings', then it might work. If not, then you're out of luck.

Nope, definately works better when set to MCE remote (At least guide, recorded tv and live tv buttons work!) If ever get another of these I'll post one down to you!

If I was you, I'd open irremote.ini and have a good look. I'm sure it can be used to get everything with this remote fully working.

There is a section in the file like the following. I wonder if you remove the semi-colon from the front of each of these lines whether it'll help.

Remember to restart the Hauppauge IR app though if you do change these...

Will give it a go although not sure if those settings are just for Hauppauge remotes which plug into the tv cards. My remote has a seperate usb reciever.
