How to write Parallelprocessing.bat file

I would like to add a Parallelprocessing.bat file to my directory so that I can have comskip detect commercials as I am recording. The problem is that I do not have a Parallelprocessing.bat file in my directory after installing gbpvr and comskip. Does anyone know what the code would be to write this file? I can write a batch file and just put it in the directory.

Just take the postprocessing.bat file and copy/rename it to parallelprocessing.bat.

For comskip it should work, I don't know rectracker so can't tell.
wrt comskip, don't forget (as I did) to not turn it on in gbpvr-config, because it is now started by parallelprocessing.bat.
Of course you could select "skip commercials etc") in gbpvr-config misc tab.
In comskip.ini at the end you can select to have comskip write the .txt file during recording instead of afterwards, so it will work right away (almost).

Your file should work fine. Rectracker will not run until comskip is finished. Comskip will finish shortly after your recording finishes, depending on the speed of your system. Mine usually runs for up to about 5 minutes after a one hour show at medium level recording. Probably more like 2 minutes most of the time.

htv, david, thanks for your help. I think I may have misinterpreted what pararrelprocessing can do. I thought it would mark commercials on the fly. For instance, if I was recording something at 8 pm and started watching it at 8:15 (while recoding still in process) it would be recognizing the commercials on the fly. Am I wrong?

parallelprocessing.bat is just a way to start operations at the beginning of recording. If you want to catch commercials "on the fly" you need to call comskip in parallelprocessing.bat, and change the comskip.ini file to output while recording.

First, since you just made your parallelprocessing.bat file, you should check to make sure it is being called by GBPVR. Add a line to the file so it reads:

echo.starting to record %1 at %time%>test.txt
comskip %1
rectracker %1 > rectracker.log
rem recycler.exe

(Make sure that line appears before the comskip line) Now you can start a recording, and check in the gbpvr directory for a file named "test", and open it. It should read: starting to record [whatever you are recording] at [the time the recording started]. If that file doesn't exist, your parallelprocessing.bat file is not being found.

If the file exists and reads correct, then you can go on to adjusting the comskip.ini file. Open up comskip.ini (in GBPVR directory) and make sure it has this line:
live_tv=1

Once that is done, you should be able to skip commercials while recording.
