Hello
First off I am new to these forums and new to pvr setups. I have a couple of questions that I was wondering if someone here could lend some input on. I have a Hauppage pvr 150 retail pci card with remote along with GBPVR software and am trying to get the ir blaster to change the channel for timeshift recording.
The box that I have is the newer mpeg4 DirecTV model H20. I recently upgraded to the HD package from DirecTV. I have tried numerous times to configure the packaged ir blaster from Hauppage and the box will not respond to anything I seem to try. So
1. Will USB-UIRT solve this problem ?
2. What exactly would be correct placement position for the remote stick-on emitter. ( I have tried directly on top of the recieving eye and just above it so far)
Sorry if the questions don't make any sense but as I said I am new to this.
Thanks in advance.
Current setup: Hauppage 150 retail pci, GBPVR, DirecTV H20 Satellite reciever S - Video out along with line audio out.

Unless the H20 uses some really weird ur protocol, the USB-UIRT will be able to control it.

Regarding the 150, it doesn't seem like hauppuage supports th h20 (yet). It does however support the H10 in the latest version... maybe it uses the same protocol?

I read that the H10 can be controled with a serial cable once it's firmware is upgraded, but I have not heard of anyone controling an H20. I am looking to get an H20 once I hear it can be controlled, but I have not run across any positive news yet. Let us know if you find out different.

Thank you very much for the input. I am still awaiting delivery of USB-UIRT and will let you know what happens after I try to set it up.
Once again though where would the correct placement of the remote stick-on emitter be or what works best ?
Thank you again.

I read in another forum someplace that it only works with the emitter 2" to 4" away from the front of the H20. I don't recall the URL though sorry.
