I installed v96.08 on my desktop when it was released, but not on the portable in my entertainment center. My system has very few programs installed, and the problems happen on a very frequent & repeatable basis using a fresh install. I’ll revert back to an earlier version later tonight or tomorrow so I have a usable system again. I’ve left it this long incase sub wanted to use it to track down the problem.

I’ve attached GBPVR logs from a mpv reboot , and a system dump showing all modules (and their versions) running for explorer, gbpvr.exe, recordingservice & config.
Hope this helps.
Jim

Jim, what dongle are you using dongle.bin or gbmvp.bin?

Quote:3/10/2006 8:05:47 PM.163 VERBOSE [76] MVP data read: 1 (112)
3/10/2006 8:05:47 PM.163 VERBOSE [76] Graceful disconnect...
I notice your logs show a graceful disconnect request which is only sent from the MVP when using the GBMVP.BIN dongle.

Can someone try the patch at http://www.gbpvr.com/mvp-related-patch.zip to see if it helps? Only apply this patch to a v0.96.12 setup

You'll need to put the gbpvr.exe in the gbpvr directory, and gbmvp.bin in the dongle directory. Even if you're not using gbmvp.bin, I've supplied it because it matches the protocol used by this gbpvr.exe, and you'll need this specific version if you decide to use gbmvp.bin.

Hi Sub, I'm using dongle.bin
I haven’t tried the new dongle after reloading.

But I haven’t rebooted the mpv either, so it's still using the hauppauge 6/2/05 version that loads from my other computer.
That's worth checking, I'll load the dongle.bin from 96.12 and give it a try. Maybe the newer dongle is loading up with commands it doesn’t understand or something.
I’ll load it now and let you know what happens.

sounds good, I'll give it a try right now.

I'm still running the 96.11 test version. Should I upgrade to the release first or are they the same version (as I presume they are)?

The patch looks good so far. I have been playing music now for about 4 hrs now without a reconnect. Before the patch they would start within the hour. I hope the reconnects when watching shows will be over too. We'll see.
Great work Sub, I hope you don't get mixed up in your priorities.Smile

Same here, 12 hours without a single MPV reboot.
And I noticed this morning (after the epg auto-update with the new gbpvr.exe installed?) that my auto-skip is working 100% of the time again.
Looking good so far.
Thanks sub!
