I am trying to use my MVP for the first time with the new version. When I start up the MVP it connects fine, says that its loading the application, then says starting the application, the turns blue for a second and then reverts back to a screen that says connecting to servers and stays on that screen.

Any idea on whats causing this? I am using the default skin for the new version of the software do I need to change this?

Thanks

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

Have you made sure both Hauppauge services are disabled? Also, does it work with the stock Hauppauge software?

It used to work fine with the previous versions of GBPVR. I don't know if it means anything but the MVP is Rev 1 and I don't know if there has been any updates since I bought this about a year ago.

Does it still work fine with previous versions? It might be worth your time to confirm that it still does, as that might give sub something to go on, or if it doesn't, it might help you figure out what might have changed on your home network.

Or it's probably easier just to verify that it still works with the standard Hauppauge software.

I'm having a problem like this as well. I just puled out my MVP again to give it a try with the new gbpvr.bin. My first try worked really well. So I decided to set it up for a longer test. I opened the config app added a few plugin's that i wanted to use on my MVP set up a subfolder and tried to run the MVP.

It was at this point things went a little weird. At first I had a black screen. I didn't see the MVP startup screen, just black. So I restarted the recording service and the MVP. The Blue MVP screen comes up, then a black screen with block's that change color (towards the top of the screen) finally GBPVR comes up. So I use the remote to go up and down and try a plugin or two. When I went to access a submenu the MVP dropped back to the screen with blocks and never came back. It froze at that point. Restarting the MVP didn't fix it. I had to restart the recording service and the MVP.

I found when I removed the submenu everything started to behave normally.

Does the MVP support submenus? Or was it a plugin on the submenu that have it a problem?

My config looks like this:
PVR (see sig)
Wired to MVP via 100mb switch
Hauppauge services are stopped (but they did work before I switched to GBPVR)
I'm using gbpvr.bin, dongle.
My skin is Contour HC.

The plugins on the submenu were: My Music, My Picutres, MVP Screen Position, and weather. I had MVP screen position in the subfolder but disabled it thinking it was a problem.

Any thoughts?
Is anyone else using the MVP with submenus?
GBPVR Server:
AMD Sempron 3300+, 1gb DDR, 100, 200 & 500gb HDDs, DVD -/+RW PVR150 RETAIL, PVR150MCE.
GBPVR 1.0.16, SKIN'S = Default Blue, PLUGIN'S = None

What do you mean by 'subfolder'? Subfolder for plugin, or ..\denz\gbpvr, or ...?
Thanks for the clarification.

I'm assuming you mean with sub folders on the main menu of whatever skin you use. I use sub folders here to hide things i don't want the family playing with and all works well. I'm using ver 96.8 yet, just haven't had the time to put in the latest maintenance release.
