Sound but no movie

Ever play an mpeg but there is sound but no movie? I started it up, and the directory listing screen in the pvr never changed, but the sound iss playing.

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed on your computer? GB-PVR relies on these for MPEG2 playback. A decoder is usually shipped and install with your capture card.

In the config app, what MPEG2 video decoders are listed on the "playback" tab? Try selecting a different one than system default.

Only have System Default. It may be my codec, did not come with a dvd player or vid card. Just wierd WMP plays it

Yes, I suspect you'd want to try another decoder. Most people either use the Intervideo one which comes with WinDVD, or Cyberlink one which comes with PowerDVD.

WIll do, as it happens now I do not have a dvd player on this machine. Been meaning to pick one up that has Windvd or powerdvd with it. May also pick up an MVP tommorow and see how that works out. Thanks

I added a DVD drive, it came with Power DVD... my mpeg2 file still plays with only sound... PowerDVD plays it fine, WMP plays it fine.

Did you explicity set GB-PVR to use the Cyberlink decoder?
