Hauppage r/c with ATI 550?

I'm expecting some new kit to arrive soon, including a Hauppage nova-t with r/c. I currently have an ATI 550 pro with a cyberlink r/c.

I would like to be able to use the Hauppage r/c with GBPVR as there seems to be more support for it (and also the cyberlink's button layout sucks somewhat).

Wil this work? Can you use a hauppage r/c even tho the video source maybe from the 550?

I dont see why not. As long as you have a Hauppauge device in the machine with working IR hardware, then you should be able to use it to control everything GB-PVR related with it.

I've installed the nova-t's drivers from here but the r/c dosnt work. I searched for the remote.ini file and it seems to only have what the "fix hauppage r/c" GBPVR config button did. Makes me think the drivers for the r/c arnt installed.

Do I need to install WinTV or are there seperate drivers for the r/c part of the card?

Yeah... you will need the ir remote application, which you can find here:

Thanks for the reply. Following your link it says "Software for the WinTV-PVR-250 and WinTV-PVR-350". I have a nova-t with a 45key r/c, is this still what I need?

Heh... well... I *think* so It won't hurt to try, though, you can always uninstall it =)

Hey stefan, thought I'd post to say thanks for the link. Just installed the IR software and the Hauppauge r/c is working perfectly now, saves installing WinTV.

On a side note the Hauppauge nova-t UK download section says "None at this time." Reckon it should be changed to http://www.gbpvr.com in big red letters
