If I use the tuning Assistant, it finds the channels. But when I click on LiveTV it only displays the channel (E.g MTV) with no signal.

I use the Hauppauge 350 card and I have tried everything.

The "Capture sources" tab is set to "No channel changer required" because I cannot get the IR remote to work.

I use Direct Recording Plugin set for Internal Tuner, Norway, and Cable.

The cable antenna goes into the Hauppauge card. Here is a log:

What I think you have done is to use the channel numbers from you EPG source as your channel lineup. They are usually not valid in Europe. If that is the case, then what you need to do now is to run the tuning assistant again, end write down the frequencies for each station. Or if you already know them (maybe your cable company have them published on their site?) Now, when you know the freqs, open the config, and *instead* of channel numbers, you enter the frequencies of each station.

atlix,

Have you installed the Hauppauge Video Decoder (hcwsmd05.exe) available on their support pages? The log suggests something is missing...

Code:
16:44:15.125 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
16:44:15.125 ERROR Failed to find Crossbar filter

Hello,
Thanks for your answer, but after I installed an earlier image, it works, and the channel numbers are the same as found in the Tuning Assistant. I did not have to enter any frequencies. But for the future, are you sure it works entering frequencies as well?

The channel changer has nothing to do with the IR Remote. It is used for controlling an IR Blaster for changing channels on an external cable box. 'None' is the right setting for your setup.

I see you've configured your capture source to use the second device in your machine. If you've only got one PVR350, this should be set to use device #1.

Stefan, I have used the Tuning Assistant, and it stopped at stations that were not clear. Of my 40 or 50 analog cable stations, it only properly detected 4 or 5 of them properly at the high end (70 and above)

what other diagnosis tools or tips are there for syncing up gfbpvr with my tuner?

EVerything else works except the stations being off frequency.

Hardware:

Hauppauge pvr 250
mediamvp
Dell P4 2G

thanks

If you have found a good "starting" frequency, I guess you can try entering frequencies that are slightly off in the config app, too. Try adding or subtracting in steps of, say, 500, and see if it gets any better. Other than that, I don't know. Maybe you can get your cable company to tell you the correct frequencies?
