sub,

i used those prerelease drivers and it worked great. used to be sound would cut out following a recording, last night with 4 back to back recordings, i had no sound issues. there is a little bit of a rainbow effect at the beginning of a recording, but i don't know if it is driver related or not. but that so far seemed to fix it.

thanks

If you mean you're using the newest 150 drivers, I had that effect. It's like a tuning refresh or something, and not a GB thing. I went back to the 2.30 drivers, and all was well again. It wasn't harmful or that bad that I could see, I just wasn't gettign a ROI to make it worth it.

I installed the latest drivers that are posted on Hauppage support site (dated 10/14/05) and I think they suck....my video quality went down with the drivers and one of the cards (I have two different versions of the 150) had the extra-white bug that is referrenced in several video fourms.

Reverted back to the 10/04 drivers that shipped with the cards and all is well again.

two55309 is referring to the private 24/oct drivers I emailed him. They specifically address a missing audio problem on the PVR150.

I have some problems with the Hauppauge MCE500 (= 2 x 150??)

Specifically the tuner device for neither of the tuners on the card has any form of FM output pin (when I attempt to create graphs in graphedit). This "might" explain why I have never been able to tune the FM tuner using GBPVR or anything else.

I have seen a description of a new driver which is released on http://www.hauppauge.tv (version 2.0.35.23258 amity) which mentions that the newer version now provides FM functionality - implying the older version didn't? The info for the new files is as follows

Quote:* INF uses a subdirectory for source files.
* PAL Comb turned off for MakoC (as well as those previously turned off).
* Improve "Resume-From-Standby" time.
* Problematic Macrovision ColorStriping detection disabled (was causing problems). Fix is in progress.
* PAL-N, PAL-NC working properly (MPEG and YUV).
* Addresses MCE/NonMCE interactions.
* VideoStandard and Encoder Settings are tracked per graph.
* Evaluation Driver attempts to address/improve DT FM Static after standby.
* Finer video format control changes.
* PAL CComb OFF by default.
* Minor Line-In audio change.
* PAL/MCE intermittent vertical stretching fixed.
* Intermittent PAL very-blurry-video fixed.
* Fixed so PVR-500 reports FM support again
* Improved per input audio level control (including registry overrides).
* Mk3/Mk4 tuner improvements.
* IR Blaster programming improvements.
* Improved support for tuner-less models.
* Driver passes Microsoft DRM and DirectShow Audio Tests.
* Fixed PAL/Teletext support on initial launch of MCE with dual tuner.
* Additional finetuning to balance Line-In / FM / TV Volumes.
* Initial Fix for somewhat rare but possible system hang on MCE Auto Tuner Setup.
* Line-In and FM are much closer to TV Volumes and ALC is NOT in use.
* Potential Bluescreen/Hang on driver unload fixed.
* Internal Production-Level Support/Control for PCIConfig Space.
* Override comb settings per videoformat.
* PAL GOPSize defaults to 12.
* Fixed resolution change transitions.
* Improved balance in Tuner/Non-Tuner Volumes.
* Better Sharpness default.
* PAL video improvements (more reliable).
* Fixed issue which under rare circumstances could cause a stream to halt.
* Fix intermittent "blurry" PAL video.
* VCD stream Aspect Ratio corrected.
* Improved support for TCL_MPE05_2 tuner.
* Correct Tuner AGC Default values for MK4 tuners to correct "white line" issue

I'm not sure whether I should install the new version as it is not yet posted on the .co.uk site. But anyone having issues with the existing 2.7a drivers might note the things above. I have stopped trying to get FM to work as the above suggests it is not likely to (with the 2.7a drivers).

Anyone have any better info?
