EPG Dowload/Import Failure Notification

Hi All,

For me this would be a really nice feature, don't know how many other users this affects.

I use zap2it in the US, and everytime the lineup changes, the conversion into GBPVR fails. To get the download to work I have to mess with the zap2it and GBPVR settings. While this is a pain, I can cope with it. The real issue is that there is no (visible) notification that the EPG is empty or that the import to GBPVR failed. I only notice it when recordings I expected no longer appear in my ready box. If I used the guide or live TV this would be different, but as it is I just use my pvr to rack up shows to view later.

This has happened twice in the last month, so it is not all that uncommon. Anyway, would be great if in the next recording panel, or something similar you could get a GBPVR type messages like EPG empty or EPG Import Failed.

I created a plugin, called SystemStatus (only found inthe forums) that lists how many days worth of EPG data you have, and give a warning message when it's low.

Have a look, if you find it good, I could try to interface it with, email, or the VA plugin or somthing to give out a message. Ahh, ut it may not get anything for zap2it, maybe I don't know, depends if zap2it uses the same database table.
