EC_ERRORABORT when transcoding xvid files

Hi

My dvr-ms files transcode to MPEG2 perfectly (and quickly)

but I cannot get the xvid transcoding to work. Either gbpvrconvert hangs or crashes.

log file below. I can't work out why it fails to locate filter: Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder. Any ideas? I am just running the eval atm. I will gladly buy it if it works ok (or do I need to buy it to make it work?)


Also, why is it trying to locat the (outdated?) LAME MPEG Layer III Audio Encoder instead of "(LAME Audio Encoder", which it then appears to find ok.

I have previously had some partial xvid files which appear ok up until the point that gbpvrconvert crashes.

source is analogue from a pvr-350 (normal and low bitrates)

xvid is 1.03

any help much appreciated (this is the only problem i am currently having with gbpvr atm)

Sorry, I dont know the answer to you problem, but I can answer a couple of your questions.

You could use GraphEdit to check that there is a filter called this on your machine.

It looks for either. It doesnt find the first one, but does find the second one. This isnt a problem.

You could try opening the *.grf file in your GB-PVR directory. It may give some clues.

Well I un-installed and reinstalled the Elecard player and decoder storm pack (wasn't sure if i needed this).

As a result, the xvid conversion worked correctly except that the avi was twice the size of the mpeg (LOL). This was using single pass. oh well....

trying 1 pass now. Me feels a seperate thread entitled "best xvid settings" coming on....
