Hello,
My MVP and GBPVR are working great, but I noticed that on playback, the video looks like it is zoomed in slightly... Channel logos and stuff are being cutoff around the edges. (Almost like zooming in 5 or 10 percent). Are there settings within the GBPVR config that can control this? Or perhaps settings for the capture devices? (Hauppauge 500) ?

Thanks...

GB-PVR has no control over the size of the video. It seems to vary quite a bit from TV to TV.

Your problem might be positioning and resizing GBPVR on your MVP. Check out the plugin MVP Screen Position from the wiki http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...enPosition

That'll only affect the OSD and menus, not the size of the video.

Are you sure this isn't a TV mode switching issue. i.e. make sure that your TV isn't presenting a 4:3 video in 14:9 aspect ratio instead or that its not doing a clipping widescreen zoom.
GB-PVR 1.0.16 (recording service and database) running on: VIA EPIA 5000 (533Mhz), 512MB, 40GB HD, PVR-150MCE, USB-UIRT controlling Sky Digital box.

GB-PVR 1.3.11 (front-end and client for above) running on: Toshiba NB100 netbook 1.6Ghz, 160GB HD, 1GB RAM.

Front-end viewed on 2xMVPs (using mvpmc dongle).

My TV not only shows the MPEG files too large overall, but also too wide (wrong aspect ratio). It is only a 4:3 standard TV, so the aspect ratio of the TV can't be wrong. Maybe something in the MVP hardware can be changed? This is new to me, so I have not looked into it.

I am having similar problem as well while watching DVD using xDVD Plugin. I have not noticed as much on regularly recorded MPEG.

I have tried the MVP plugin which changes the screen position, and it sort of worked, but still picture is getting cutoff little bit on GBPVR Main Menu using MVP.

Also my picture quality is about 15% darker on movie using xDVD and recorded MPEG which I have not been able to figure out yet.

Will DirectShow or ffdshow allow that to be fixed on the MVP? I have the same problem with the recorded shows.. However if I use the Hauppauge WinTV to record stuff off of my Cable PVR, the picture to the MVP is perfect. I will verify this and report back in a few days.

I just reloaded WinXP and GB-PVR. Now the aspect ratio is fine. The overall size still looks slightly large, but that may be due to the overscan of the TV as compared to my computer monitor. So the problem was not something inherently wrong with the GB-PVR server, but must have been something about the setup. I didn't do anything differently in the software, but Hauppauge warns that MediaMVP must be unplugged when installing the server software, so maybe that was it.
