Avi playback, audio no video.

Hey all,

I'm brand new to this DIY-PVR stuff but this software is great, makes it easy. I got everything up and running in a weekend, including building the PC from scatch. I have everything running at 99%, now that I offset my timezone to account for daylight savings.

My ONLY problem to date is playing back an AVI file in the video library. I have audio but only a black screen for video. I'm pretty sure that the problem is a video decoder somewhere, but, like I said I'm brand new to this stuff. If anyone could give me a little insight on where I might be able to set the proper decoder, also ideas on what the proper setting need to be would be greatly appreciated.

I would have gladly read the manual, but I couldn't really find one outside the quickstart guide.

You could download GSpot from http://gspot.headbands.com/ which will identify what type of decoder is required to playback the avi file. Its most likely a missing codec (XVid or DivX probably).
