Hi there Mixman,

I've just completed the macro. It creates a language.xml file in unicode. So this fixes the problems you had with translating Arabic and Hebrew. I does not seem to work well with Korean though. And I noticed that many translations are longer than the original text so they don't fit (at work we change the gui accordingly, but that is really quit a lot of work so sub may not want to do that. Also some translations are just way too long anyway).

But first the macro:
- I asume I don't have the most up to date excel sheet so I just added the code.
- Open the excel sheet
- Select main menu extra\macro\visual basic editor
- Selectc Insert new module (not a class module! choose any name you like)
- Paste the code I suplied
- save and close VB editor
- select main menu extra\macro\run
- You should get the option: CreateSingleXml()
- run it
Note: You probably have to lower the security settings and even close and reopen Excel.

Thanks Jhari

Just fantastic improvement for translating.
The Excel macro works just great. Now everybody can create a Language.XML file, directly from the Excel sheet. I tested with Hebrew and Arabic and no problems at all. But the interest to translate does not seem to exist. I haven't gotten any additional translations in a very long time.
Thanks again for the very good work.

It's strange that you don't get any translations. Most (all?) are incomplete. Translation is not completely forgotten though. I have recently seen updated support for translations in some plugins (weather and cd for example).
The problem is you can never be sure, maybe it is used a lot, just not by users who post comments here? (a download counter of the excel sheet would be cool)

So MaBo has not send you any translations yet. Maybe I'll take a look at the Dutch translations then.

Hi mixman,

Can you add the dutch translation (and macro) to the excel sheet on the wiki page.

I also noticed some other translations are also complete. So those users probably don't spend much time on translations and never read your question. So Maybe there are some translation user (at least there is one (for every complete translated language)).

Here is the translation I have checked with standard configuration (no plugins).
Bolded text in the first column (Original text) of the Excel file means the text has been modified to match the text shown.
At the RADIO PLUGINS section this message should be added: "Do you want to skip or keep this station, or cancel the scan?".
At the WEATHER PLUGIN section these messages should be added (translation is in italian):
<translate originalText="Details" translatedText="Dettagli"/>
<translate originalText="Add" translatedText="Aggiungi"/>
<translate originalText="Remove" translatedText="Rimuovi"/>
<translate originalText="Cannot Remove Area From Weather List" translatedText="Non posso rimuove l'area dalla lista"/>
<translate originalText="There is only one item in the weather list so it can not be removed." translatedText="Essendocene una sola non la posso cancellare."/>
<translate originalText="Previous Day" translatedText="Giorno Prec."/>
<translate originalText="Next Day" translatedText="Giorno Succ."/>
<translate originalText="Previous Map" translatedText="Mappa Prec."/>
<translate originalText="Next Map" translatedText="Mappa Succ."/>
<translate originalText="Tomorrow" translatedText="Domani"/>
<translate originalText="Sunday" translatedText="Domenica"/>
<translate originalText="Monday" translatedText="Lunedì"/>
<translate originalText="Tuesday" translatedText="Martedì"/>
<translate originalText="Wednesday" translatedText="Mercoledì"/>
<translate originalText="Thursday" translatedText="Giovedì"/>
<translate originalText="Friday" translatedText="Venerdì"/>
<translate originalText="Saturday" translatedText="Sabato"/>
<translate originalText="Weather for" translatedText="Previsioni per"/>
<translate originalText="Forecast for" translatedText="Previsioni per"/>
<translate originalText="Tonight in " translatedText="Stasera a "/>
<translate originalText="Feels Like:" translatedText="Percepita:"/>
<translate originalText="Wind:" translatedText="Vento:"/>
<translate originalText="Pressure:" translatedText="Pressione:"/>

I've updated the file with the italian language translation and added more English sentences that were missed.

I have been busy having a long Christmas vacation.
But now I have added all your contributions and other translations that I have gotten. I have started to include strings from the config program also, but more string willbe added. I have re-arranged the Excelsheet so that the main program and the plugins "strings" are separated. There is also a column called the Language name + Basic for you who wants only the main translations.
Now you can use the "built in" macro from Jhari to generate your own Language.xml file.
Thank you all for the contributions.
I will update the SelectLanguage "plugin" one of these days.

Updated french translation : both normal and light one, now identical strings are translated the same Wink
Also notice a strange thing : line 108 and 112 now looks like to be very very very similars ?? , but my translation was completly wrong for the 108 !! It was takling about frequency chanel, and the way it should be entered... :confused:

The idea with different columns for one language is.
The column with all plugins can have short translations, since many skins does not have so wide buttons to fit full translation.
eg Main Menu in German should be Hauptmenü, but has to be trunkated to Hauptm. to fit, because of "small" button skins.
The column with the basic should have longer "translations" for "wider" skins that are designed for "foreign" languages.
Perhaps I should change the name to "Wide" instead of "Basic". I will change.
I also just thaught of making a "Common Buttons" section for main program and plugins, to easier identify buttons and avoid duplicates. I will do that later.

I have removed many duplicates, but I missed that one. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback.
