What settings should I use to optimize GBPVR's performance? I remember Sub mentioning in a previous post that the drive should be formatted using certain options, but I can't seem to find that post. Could someone please enlighten me as to what settings to use when formatting the storage drive? Also would it be better to place the live TV buffer on another drive seperate from the drive where the recordings are saved? My harddrive setup is as follows:
1x 160GB IDE Maxtor drive (OS plus whatever else)
2x 300GB SATA Seagate drives in RAID 0 (Recordings)

Any suggestings are greatly appreciated. Thanks...

64k blocksize can really help protect againts disk fragmentation.

I probably wouldnt bother separating the live tv directory from the recording directory, but if you have the physical drives to spare, have windows and GB-PVR installed on c: and recording to d: would probably help a bit.

Tipstir,
Sub recommended to use a 64K block when formatting the drive. Which is better, 64K or 1024? Just want to make sure I get this stuff setup correctly. Smile

The downside is that due to the larger block size, the useable disk will appear smaller.
Celeron D 2.53GHz, 1024MB
120GB, 160GB int, 80GB, 250GB ext, 40GB lan HDDs
PVR-150 retail, 1 wired MVP, 1 wireless MVP, OFA URC-8910 Remote
Look for me on XBox Live!

If you're using windows 2k go for a blocksize of 4k on your recordings drive otherwise the windows disk defrag won't work if it's bigger.
