Okay, I would like some advice on getting a remote. I have a custom built HTPC using GB-PVR that uses a Hauppauge PCTV-150 card /w remote, LG Receiver, GE tv, and a Panasonic VCR that I'd like to be able to control them all with one remote without loosing a lot of functionality. I've been looking at the Sony AX4000. I realize this question is just not limited to GB-PVR, but I'm just curious if anyone has had luck getting rid of their remote clutter. TIA.

P.S. Here's the link to the sony remote http://products.sel.sony.com/ax4000/

Do a search in the forum on Universal remote, replace remote, remote solutions, jp1, and URC remote.

You should find lots of posts on this subject.

I currently use a URC remote that has JP1 capability. JP1 is a remote hacking tool that lets you backup configure and up grade you remote with new codes. One-for-all and radio shack brand remotes are JP1 as well as other brands. I'm running a sony receiver, hauppauge 150, sharp TV, Panasonic DVD, and Cannon Video camera all from the same remote. In addition the remote supports home automation (which I'm not using).

Good Luck

Well I bought the Sony RM-AX4000 Universal Remote. Works great, maybe even better than the PVR150. Only bad thing is it's a big remote, I would have to recommend though, programming was very easy with Sony software.
