Hey everyone, haven't been around due to lack of time recently but it is getting down to crunch time if I am to finish building this PVR before XMas :-P (I started in summer, lol)

Anyway, I have all of GB's functionality set up the way I like it and now I am trying to toss a different skin on there. However, when I change the skin to say, BlueMCE2 in config.exe GBPVR will not load.

As an experiment, I also tried the XMedia skins and they had the same result.

Frustrated, I deleted all the files under skin/BlueMCE2 and copied all of those from skins/Blue into the now empty BlueMCE2 folder. THAT worked...so I realy have no idea what is going on Sad

My plugins:
TV Guide
Recorings
Search Guide
Live TV
DVD
Weaher
Theater

Any advice will be greatly appreciated :-D

edit: It is also worth noting that all files (including gbpvr) were downloaded 4 days ago or sooner so they all should be updated as far as they go.

If you are using GBPVR v94.13, those skins should work.
You might try using the config program to disable everything except TV Guide, Live TV, and Exit. If that works, add the other plug-ins one-at-a-time.

If you are using the new GBPVR release, v95.11, you should post to the skin's support thread to see if they are compatible with the new GBPVR release (it's only been out a couple of days).

Good Luck,
David

The new version of GBPPVR uses a file that is not in the bluemce2 skin yet. You can use the original bluemce2 skin that you had and copy the file ProcAmp.xml from the OSD skin sub directory of the blue skin into the OSD skin sub directory of the bluemc2 skin. That should fix things (at least it did for me). You might also want to include a baseskin.xml file int he main bluemce2 skin to catch some things that have changes; I have attached mine.

Thanks for pointing out the issue with BlueMCE2. I poked around at this for 10-15 minutes but couldn't figure out what the problem was. Now everything seems back to normal!

How did you determine that the missing ProcAmp.xml file was part of the problem? I looked through most of the logs but don't recall seeing anything that would have pointed me in that direction.

I found that BliueMCE2 works without any tweaking in overlay mode but not in
VMR9. I haven't tried to "force feed" it through yet.

It was in the main gbpvr.exe.log file. Sometime you need to look one run back (in gbpvr.exe-1.log) to find what you are looking for.

I'm fairly sure this will be because of the missing OSD\ProcAmp.xml file which is required when using VMR.

I seem to remember in the new version that if you use this skin when you select a program to watch in the TV Guide the buttons don't fit inside the dialog frame. It also seemed to me that the dialog frame's transparency didn't look good with bits of the guide underneath showing through. I ended up making my own dialog bitmaps for this skin and making a slight alteration to the XML to resize the frame.

I don't mind posting those modifications if the skin's author doesn't object.

I forgot something - I really liked the task images in "the colour collection" skin so I colourised them blue and added them to my version of the BlueMCE2 skin. Guess I'll need the permission of that skin's author too :o
