No picture after clean install!

Just did a clean install on my machine. I'm using a Hauppage 500MCE card. I I don't seem to get any picture now in the LIve TV window. I do get picture with the Tuning Assistant though. Sound works fine. Just no picture. I've tried VMR9, VMR7 ad Overlay Manager, but it's all the same. I have installed DirectX 9c and updated to the latest NVidia graphcs driver for my video card.
I've also installed the Guardian Knot codec pack.
Any ideas?

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed? It sounds like you dont.

That also wont do.

Install something like WinDVD or PowerDVD.

Hmm. ok. will this do the job? It seems to be alot Cheaper.
Elecard MPEG-2 Decoder&Streaming pack v 3.0

OK. I downloaded the trial and it seems to work now. So any free alterntives?? Or is the elecard decoder the cheapest option?
This may be a strange quetion, but if I just want to watch recordings and not live TV, do I still need a decoder??

Try the intervideo one free on the hauppage site....try the one for the 150 if the driver set for the 500 doesn't have one.

on the Hauppage site. I tried installing it, but it gives me an error:
Could not load the DLL librry C:\Windows\system32\hcwpnp32.dll. The specified module could not be found.

Any idea?
