Recently attempted install of GBPVR on new system. First install of .NET 1.1 then installl of program. Receive error shown below. Followed with install of .NET 1.1 sp1 and .NET 2.0 as well as MDAC 2.8, receiving no change in error response even after reinstall. Deleted the Nativeutilities.dll file in folder with no change in response.

Have latest drivers from Hauppauge PVR 350 installed. Only problem I see might exist is the usage of Nvidia Active Shield hardware firewall. Tried uninstalling, but still problem with GBPVR exists. Want to get this to work, but nothing I do seems to work. I am pretty sure its something with my system setup as Mediaportal also doesnt work, and insight into what I can do with troubleshooting would be great.

You do not mention your OS but I assume due to information in the error log you are running either Windows NT or 2K. You need the Nativeutilities.dll in the GBPVR folder for it to work correctly so you will need to re-install GBPVR. I am not sure if this is a registered file or not but either way safest bet would be to re-install.

Not sure about the firewall myself

Try deleting all items in your D:\Winnt\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\
directory, reboot and try to launch GBPVR - again making sure that the Nativeutilities.dll file is installed in the GBPVR folder.

If this doesn't help maybe Sub or someone else more familiar with the error codes can assist Smile

Win2k it is. Reinstalling with repair or uninstalling and then reinstalling still doesnt work.

drugstore_cowboy Wrote:Not sure about the firewall myself

The only reason I asked about the Nvidia firewall is that I saw an issue with Apache and GBPVR in another post, and noticed that the hardware firewall from Nvidia also uses apache (though it doesnt explain problem when firewall is uninstalled)

Nothing in that folder, but thanks for the help.

People running Win2k have had this problem when running an older version of Media Player (at least version 8) - which version do you have?

I just reinstalled this on a frsh install of XP and I'm gettnig the same error still.
I upgraded to WMP10 and ran the .net framework 1.1 Then installed the GBPVR software. Is there something I'm missing?
The tuner card is installed and working correctly and there aren't any conflicts anywhere. Any ideas?

Sometimes you can get this if you have a firewall getting in the way.

Log into http://labs.zap2it.com to check your account details are correct. While you're there, also make sure you've added your lineup.

Can you post a screenshot of your error message?

Now that I read through it its different. I might need to start a new thread for it. (sorry I'm trying to read it on the tv and the text is pretty small.)

This is what it says.
An unhandled exception has occured in your application. blah blah continue ignores the exception and quit shuts it down.
External component has thrown an exception
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

This was addressed in v0.95.16 (second of two releases yesterday). What version are you running?
