I tried playing it through my video library and it has an error that it can't play this type of file. I close gbpvr and play through windvd no prob. So i know that gbpvr is most likely playing it with windows media play or something like that. I then installed a specific mpeg2 codec gbpvr still won't play. Hmmm. Most likely I screwed something up as always, I was just wondering if anyone could help. I searched but couldn't find anything specific. Normally I would play it through windvd and not even worry about it but when I try to go full screen it starts to roll, So i'd like to get it to play through gbpvr.

You have to bury down through the folders to the actual mpg on the svcd, called (IIRC) VIDEOSEQ_01.mpg
You can never have enough tuners!

I found that gbpvr doesn't even like the mpg files from an SVCD.

VCDs and DVDs are fine, just not the SVCD ones - which is strange cos they're just MPEG2's.

reboot - I did try that. I moved the file to the library folder and still nothing.

Psycik - That sounds about right, I guess. I only say that because I thought I had it right but I still wonder. Theres gotta be away.

I think I re-encoded mine as plain MPG2 files.

The problem may be in the aspect ratio, not the mpg stream itself. SVCD's are 480x480, and the software is supposed to detect the header and stretch them to 720x480/576.
This may depend on which decoder you're using for playback.

There was a version of GB that wouldn't play mpeg1...make sure the files is mpeg2 and that you're using the newest version of GB.

Reboot - Do you have any suggestions for a decoder?

Capone - I am currently running the newest version.

I dont own any SVCDs so I cant them, but I cant think of any GB-PVR reason they wouldnt play. This of course assumes that the configured Video Decoder can cope with these MPEG2 files.

Also I think true SVCD mpeg2s are not full program streams, but transport streams. That is why they end up smalled when put onto a SVCD.
