I have started receiving the following error:

Failure in ChannelFactory:ConfusedtoreChannels(): The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data.

I am not sure which part of GBPVR is causing this or whether it is one of the plugins (the only ones I use is XRecord group and the Comskip. It appears after the program is recorded and once I click the OK the PostProcessing.bat window opens and runs.

Last night it locked the record status open and I had a nine gig file of recordings.

I have never had this error before I upgraded to 95.14.

I have been doing some testing and found that this error is as a result of updating EPG. I can run the PostUpdateEPG.bat file without an error, so it is not the bat file. It has to do with updating the EPG... I get the error message after it has updated the EPG but before it runs the PostUpdateEPG.bat file. Once I click OK on the error message the PostUpdateEPG.bat runs without a problem. This probably explains why I have a number of channels that have no programs listed in the directories (TV Guide and XGuide)

This started happening to me since i upgraded to 0.95.16

As indicated in another thread from an older version, I checked the size of the "rating" field in the programme table and it was only 50 so I changed it to 255 with no luck.

Just for fun, I changed the size of all the other text fields to 255 but I'm still getting the problem.

Any thoughts?

Are you using XMLTV? email a sample XMLTV file to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

Sorry, I am using the zap2it in Canada - Bell Satellite.

Last night I uninstalled v0.95.16 and removed all plugins. I then reinstalled it. I still received the error when GBPVR tries to update EPG.

I then uninstalled v.0.95.16 and installed v0.95.14. The error message disappeared. I think the problem started with v0.95.15

Some channels are still not being populated, but I am assuming that is probably a zap2it problem.

email me your zap2it login details and I'll take a look.

It might take me a day or so to get to it though - I'm just in the middle of reinstall my development machine. I've only got XP and few other bits on there so far. No development tools, no GB-PVR yet.

Hello Sub,

I have removed the PPV channels in question and reinstalled 0.95.16. The error went away when I updated the EPG.

For those that are reading this, the error was as a result of a group of channels in zap2it that all share the same unique channel identifier. They needed to be disabled at labs.zapit.com. Sub hopes to have something in the next release of GB-PVR to deal with this.

Thank you very much for your help in fixing the error.

As an aside, I notice that over time some channels become enabled in the Edit Recording Source section. This was one of the channels that I had not enabled in the setup. There was actually a number of channels that had "re-enabled" themselves in the GB-PVR Edit Recording Source. I am assuming that this particular channel re-enabled itself when I upgraded to v.15 and that it why I started noticing the error when I upgraded to v.15. I cannot figure out how or when they are re-enabled. I know that I do not enable them because I do not have a need to go into the area and I am the only one that looks after GB-PVR. Nevertheless, I thought I would bring it to your attention.

This has happened to me also. Conversely when enabling channels and mapping them, when the resording service and config restart the info is not saved. Very annoying and I can't consistantly reproduce it!! Then even when the mapping shows as saved the channel will not tune correctly. All this using the a BDA setup with DVB. Luckily the channels are not that important.

I have just changed the DB to SQL Server and have got the following when trying to update the EPG: Failure in ChannelFactory:ConfusedtoreChannels(): Specified cast is not valid.
