In config.xml, I have

<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>

But this does not allow me to use visualizations when playing music. If I turn it to "true", then GB-PVR just hangs up. It freezes and I have to reset.

Also, when it's true, I was not able to play Netradio (which during the Christmas season, is great and a must!)

What can I do to: Use Visualizations and play Netradio??

It must be something wrong with the Windows Media Player setup on your machine.

I'm surprised it doesnt play netradio for you with this setting set to 'true'. This setting is not used for net radio. Are you sure you're not using v0.95.15 or earlier? There was a bug with netradio that caused it to try to use Windows Media Player. This was changed in v0.96.16 so that net radio will not use windows media player regardless of the setting. I've just double checked this here and every is functioning the way I had intended to.

You'll just have to set it to false then. There are no configureable parameters for this. It'll either be able to use WMP or it wont.

Another user indicated he'd googled on this, and had found that some people get this even with other apps (MediaPortal as one example), but the reason and fix was unknown. There was some theory about it being related to having .net 2.0 installed, but I dont know whether this was accurate.

hmmm i don't have .net 2.0 installed. oh well, i'll just go back to false and not have those cool visualizations. It's wierd because this just started. I had it set to true until this past release, so maybe something tweaked when i installed

It might be worth trying the manual steps for installing it as described this usenet post: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft...7b46e35a88

hey is there a way currently to have the visualizations be full screen? That or even better be integrated with the screen saver.
