I love this program, but as a long time user of myHTPC, I'm trying to come to grips with the TV Guide - actually the fact that for all the screen real-estate at 800x600, I'm not seeing alot of programs, or the channel names (with logos off) wrap.

Has anyone modded the XML file to make more use of the screen area? I'm OK with modding XML myself, but are having a problem trying to work out values for the channel name area (and how to change it's dimensions) and also how to lengthen the area for programs (for each hour).

All help appreciated.

Agreed. I had the same question myself. I look at the onscreen display in that respect as well. But the thing that really got me questioning it was the server pages guide display. That by contrast looks very very nice. I wish the guide on the tv looked half as nice.

Sorry, what do you mean? What is the server pages guide display?

Ok, now I'm confused - the current web stuff is actually a bit ugly. The TV Guide definitly look much much better.

Sub,

Any plans to expand the real-estate for the TV guide? I've tried to modify the XML file, but suspect that there is more happening in the executable than is exposed in the XML resource file - is that a fair assumption?

If you saw the EPG in myHTPC (before it became Meedio), you'd understand how much more guide data it displays - same info as GB-PVR, just more on the screen!

BTW - Great proggie!

Thanks,

Pete

The difference is really that GB-PVR is designed for TV sized framebuffer for supporting XCard, PVR350 and MVP. myHTPC is really designed for display on a computer monitor. Most of the GB-PVR screens are designed around 720x480 or 720x576.

These aren't hard rules though, and some things (like the pictures plugin) use a higher resolution and the screens are automatically resized for display at for display 720x480 or 720x576 if they need to be (or left high-res for PC monitor).

I could probably make some additional settings in the skin file which enable you to state how large the image should be. It was easier for me in the short term not to do this, which meant I didn't have to have rules for dynamically resizing the current guide grid.
