Can some one give me a blow by blow account of how to install EPG for the UK. I don't understand all the references to grabbers and so on!
I have a Hauppauge Nova-T USB2 tuner which works fine on my laptop but the Hauppage supplied recording scheduler is not that great.
Thanks!!

You can get a Radio Times grabber here

Use it to download an xml listing & point GBPVR config at the directory containing the listing.

If you use the radio times grabber above -in my opinion the best of the grabbers available for UK listings), you'll need to map the channels of the EPG source (the xmltv file) to the digital channels available from your tuner card. This is done by using the 'Map Digital channels to EPG channels' option when configuring your recording source. Another thing to remember is to set up a scheduled task in windows so that the grabber runs and downloads listings on a daily basis. Check out this link for more.
As you're using a nova-t, you may want to use the DVB EPG that is available in the tv signal broadcast stream. Assuming you're in an area with decent reception you'll be able to get a full EPG without having to mess about with grabbers. Simply change the EPG Source to 'DVB EPG Broadcast' when configuring your recording source.

What brings this to life? It always seems to be greyed out for me.

Check the following things in the edit recording source window:
1) Your recording source is set to 'BDA Recording Plugin' and that within the settings of this your device type is correctly set to 'Hauppauge Nova-T USB2' assuming that this is your BDA device.
2) Your EPG source is set to XMLTV plugin and that within the settings of this you have identified the path to your XMLTV file.

If you've set both these correcty, the channel mapping functionality will then be enabled.

Ahh, sussed, pulled the Nova out while trying to sort out the pvr150 blaster controlling the Sky box, so lost the BDA... Thanks.
