Hi,

I have the Hauppauge PVR USB2 card and when I try watching live tv, the picture halts after 10-20 secs.

This is with "Use Live Preview mode if possible" checked under Misc.

Deinterlacing is set to: Encoder Pass-through

If I uncheck "Use ..." the picture doesn't halt anymore.

I have just updated to the lates driver for the interface from http://www.hauppauge.com

Am I missing somthing?

BTW. Super program - keep up the good work Smile

What video decoder are you using?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look.

Strange thing just happened.

I opened live TV and was able to watch tv without it stopping, change channel and no problems. Then I exited the mode and entered Live TV again.
This time the framerate was considerable lower and then it halted.

Could it be that I use the interface in a USB1.1 connector on my laptop? Medium quality should be possible using 1.1 right?

I am using InterVideo WinDVD 5 as decoder.

The logs look fine.

I'd have to guess it is caused by trying to use this device with USB 1.1. I've not tried it, but I dont believed the sustained tranfer rate will be high enough. I remember another user trying this in the past and also having problems.

sub, does live preview in GB-PVR use a uncompressed YUV stream (Preview pin)?

If so, I'm pretty sure that USB 1.1 is insufficient for 720x576 YUV capture.

FWIW, I've never had live preview working reliably with the PVR-USB2 with the latest driver, even when it's running as USB 2.0. The older drivers seem to work better.

Yes, except when 'encoder pass through' is selected, then it uses MPEG2.

I'm not sure what the PVR USB2 drivers do behind the scenes though. I suspect it never tries to transmit uncompressed YUV across the USB interface. They probably fake it.

I think the problem is solved now!

I uninstalled all the Hauppauge software and also the intervideo plugin for hauppauge.

Then I installed the beta driver for the PVR USB2, the WinTV app and the new Intervideo MPEG decoder.

I have selected the new decoder in the gbpvr config app aswell both for video and audio.

Seems to work fine on USB 2.0 havent tried on USB 1.1 yet.
