Captioning w/ PVR 250

I've read through all the captioning threads that came up in the search, but I'm still having trouble. Is there any way I can find step by step instructions for setting up the software to get captions?

I dont think there are detailed instructions anywhere, but it is mentioned in a few posts.

From memory, if you use VMR9 and the Intervideo decoder, and have 'show closed captions' option enabled, then when you playback recordings that contain embedded captions, then they'll be display. Recordings made by the PVR250 should contain embedded captions.

You wont get them for live tv, only for playback of existing recordings.

I'd downloaded some instructions from somewhere - I can't remember. These might help you, too. You will need the registry hacks from the Amontillado site linked above.

Hah! Read that file before, but I missed one line...fixed it and now it's working. Additionally, I even have captioning on live tv, more or less; just set it to record and started watching it 10 seconds behind :-)

Finally, it's doing what I want it to do :-)
