Hi all,

I am using Hauppauge PVR150, how can i enable closed captioning in my live tv, i am not bothered about recording now, i love to enable closed captioning, when i press Ctrl-y it displays on screen saying 'subtitles enabled' but i do not see any closed capitoning, is there any way i can configure gbpvr to show closed capitoning or any work around method?

I searched all forum here but i do not find a good answer,....

thanks in advance.

Unfortunately there is no support for Closed Captioning subtitles as used in the US. The Ctrl-Y feature you're trying to use is for Teletext subtitles which is used in many other parts of the world.

There is some very limited CC functionaly that can be used by PVR250/PVR350 owners, but unfortuntaly the more recent Hauppauge devices like PVR150 etc do not capture the CC information in their MPEG-2 recordings.

The PVR-150/500 might get support for this, if driver release notes are anything to go by:

I read somewhere that the pvr150mce model supports cc. I believe I've read about it somewhere in this forum. MCE capture cards are usually required to support CC in the United States.

Not in the same way as the PVR250/350.

MCE can do CC with the PVR150, but its done a different way. The CC info is not muxed in the MPEG2 recording like the PVR250/350, but rather as an additional stream in the MCE proprietary DVR-MS container.

Difference between Hauppauge PVR150, PVR250, PVR350 and PVR500

in above site they saying PVR-150 MCE with new drivers will support CC, can some one confirm this? If it is working then can some one tell me how I can enable this in my card?
