Hi,

I've been at it a couple of days trying to get my PVR 250 running with GB-PVR.
I have to say I like this app a lot. Very promising!

I do have some issues that probably are just newbie questions. I haven't been able to find these answers through searching the forums though.
Here goes.

1. Web service
This was one of the main reasons for me to go with GB-pvr. The webserver can't seem to find the station icons and just displays blanks. Do I need to edit the "showlogos.aspx" or is there a simpler way.
Another thing is the display on a Pocket PC. Has anyone modified the default web service to be more PPC friendly?

2. EPG
I'm using O2Grabber for Denmark (5 days of listings). While I do get listings showed they are not accurate programs are mixed from several days and showtimes are off too. GB-pvr crashes if I run it with "-updateEPG", could that be the problem?

3. Black vertical bars
I'm getting these (about 5% of the screen both in the left and right side of the screen) in live-tv and the recordings. Wintv doesn't have them. What gives?

4. Channel settings
I have most channels setup, but a few won't show at all. I had to scan for channels using both antenna and cable to get all the channels. GB-pvr seems only to use one of the two. The problem is that some channel numbers are repeated (with two different channels), making it hard to choose the right channel number. Any thoughts on this?

Any help would be very appreciated. And thanks for a great program!

# 4 solved using Sage recorder auto tune.

Channel icons in the web service are not shown if they are png's. Converting them to jpg's makes it work.

So I really only have 2 things left. #3 the black bars and a humble wish for a PPC version of the webservice.

Has NO-one experienced black vertical bars or is this a question of "lets ignore the new guy"?

I'm not ignoring the new guy. I just find it difficult to respond to everything. There is too few hours in the day.

How are you playing back video? For user viewing with VMR7/VMR9/Overlay I will eventually introduce horizontal and vertical zoom settings, which should enable you to correct this issue. This isnt in included in the release I'm currently working on though - sorry.

There is some work currently being done to the website to make it much nicer looking than the current site, but I'm affraid its also not very PPC friendly. You can see some screenshots and discussion here http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=219

The good thing is that I do include all the source code for the website, which has everything that someone would need to create a PPC friendly version. I dont really have time to work on this myself, but hopefully one of the other technically inclined users will take it on as a project.

Sorry for sounding grouchy. Frustration was talking.

I understand a bit more now about overscan issues and will try to tweak the config.xml. I'm just surprised there is no autozoom to eliminate the black border. Seems a waste of pixels for recordings too.

I'm often playing the recordings through my XBOX (xbmc) which causes the black borders to be visible (the xbox assumes a borderless source).

Thanks for your reply (and your program!Wink
