Hello,

I just ran into mvpmc (http://mvpmc.sourceforge.net/) and it adds AC3 support to the mediamvp. I looked through the forums and I haven't seen any solid information on GBPVR support for mvpmc.

Can GBPVR work with mvpmc? Will mvpmc support be added in the future?

Thanks!

If it adds AC3 support, how will it push out a signal?? Not having seen one yet, but hopefully getting mine this week, i thought they only had a 2 rca (left and right) audio output. If AC3 was on board, wouldn't you want to hook up to a Digital coax cable or Toslink optical cable??

Sorry not answering your question.

Oddly enough, there IS a rather wacko mod you can do for either or both ...

Interesting. But wonder why they didn't stick one of these in there in the first place. Or at least make one of the RCA cables able to be a digital coax.

MPVMC adds ac3 support which means that you can play a DVD using the mediamvp. The current mediamvp's OS doesn't play AC3 sound. It has nothing to do with hardware.

In addition, you don't have to worry about converting the AC3 sound if you backup your DVD to your harddrive. Currently, you have to split the video and sound and convert the sound.

My question: does GBPVR support MPVMC? If not, will support be added in future updates?

Thanks!

No it doesnt. I have no plans to add support for it in the future. That said, mvpmc can be setup to play videos off a share, so you'll already be able to use it to play back recorded video files.

Shodap,

I'm currently looking at building an MVPMC to GBPVR converter, but don't hold your breath! I'm basing it on the mythtv support already in MVPMC, so one part of it will pretend to be a mythtv server. Unfortunately, MVPMC accessess the mythtv SQL database directly, so I've got to come up with a solution for that... It's VERY early days at the moment...

Cheers

Hi Newguy here. Will introduce myself later but wanted to post this quickly.

I got my new wireless MediaMVP delivered last night. It seems to have a digital coax port. Guess I need to test it when I get it hooked up.
